The United Federation of Teachers in New York City celebrates public school graduates who have become accomplished professionals through Noteworthy Graduate, a column in the union’s newspaper, the New York Teacher. The Noteworthy Graduate column highlights each graduate’s career but focuses on people and programs in the public schools that strongly influenced the graduate, either introducing the graduate to a field of study, or supporting and nurturing a talent, or simply as a force that guided the graduate to excel.
