Meet a Nobel Laureate: Frank Wilczek Gives Public Lecture in Lund

On Friday 5 September 2025, Lund University welcomed Professor Frank Wilczek for a public lecture open to everyone. In a talk titled "My Life with Quantum Chromodynamics," he took the audience on a journey through some of the greatest ideas in modern physics.

A lifetime with quantum physics
Frank Wilczek is best known for discovering asymptotic freedom, a breakthrough that led to Quantum Chromodynamics, the modern theory describing how the strong force binds together the particles inside atomic nuclei.
The lecture ranged from the hunt for the Higgs particle to the mysteries of dark matter and the ongoing search for axions, with stories from a lifetime at the scientific frontier. Of his research, Wilczek has said it has been "a 50-year love affair, still going strong," one that continues to inspire new experiments and fresh ideas today.
